At Forge we aim to provide a high-quality learning experience for our pupils that supports each of them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
We understand that this happens most readily in safe emotional spaces, where children feel secure, valued and cared for. Only then are children well placed to benefit fully from the intersection of a carefully sequenced curriculum, with personalised approaches to teaching and learning.
At Forge we place emphasis on teaching identified key knowledge while encouraging academy autonomy in planning effective, engaging lessons. This promotes a cohesive approach that supports pupil learning over time, and also frees teachers from considerations of content, to a focus on lesson delivery, engagement and the personalisation of learning to meet the needs of all children.
This is achieved through a mixed economy of the Forge Curriculum in Reading, Composition, Science, Art, D&T, Geography and History and academy level plans which may include bought-in schemes for PE, Music, Maths, MFL, PHSE, RE and RHSE.
