WELCOME FROM THE FORGE TRUST

A Multi - Academy Trust

The Forge Trust is a primary based multi-academy trust, which was founded in September 2016, building on the success of The Sir Donald Bailey Academy in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

There is a clear vision to provide the very best education for every pupil in our schools, and to ensure the quality of teaching is excellent, and that the environment for learning encourages all pupils to find their talent and succeed. We believe strongly in our mission to change the lives of these children and have the ambition to be the most successful multi academy trust in the country!

The Trust specialises in working in communities which face disadvantage and challenge, and prides itself on having a transformational agenda to significantly impact on the life chances of children in the communities served by Forge academies. The CEO, Lee Hessey, is a National Leader in Education, and describes the Trust as ‘primary specialists providing the best education for children in deprived areas tackling underachievement’.

Our trust motto is ‘labor omnia vincit’, which is latin for ‘hard work conquers everything’. Our key values that are reinforced right across the trust are as follows: team player, work ethic, respect, positivity, discipline, and ambition. We believe that these values prepare our children well for the next phase of their education, and for the world of work.

MEMBERSHIP OF THE FORGE TRUST

Joining us

There are, we believe, many potential benefits of membership to The Forge Trust. Pupils benefit from a culture where teachers strive to ‘teach like pros’, and share expertise across the school and trust.  We believe that it is important to build professional capital. By ensuring that human capital (individually talented teachers) is strong, decisional capital is sharp (how well teachers and leaders across the trust make decisions based on children’s learning), as well as promoting social capital (how well teachers share their expertise and learn from each other), then we continue to improve as a trust. We warmly welcome collaboration and initial discussion with other schools outside of the Forge Trust, who may wish to know more about our organisation, or who are going through the academy conversion process.

We can offer:

  • Enhanced staff resources and training;
  • Shared teaching experience and knowledge base;
  • Increased pupil access to all learning resources and facilities;
  • Increased access for pupils to specialist teaching skills;
  • Funding and reduced expenditure;
  • Access to fundraising and sponsorship expertise;
  • Academy conversion support;
  • Leadership programmes;
  • Research based improvement programmes;
  • Leadership expertise including NLE guidance.
